This recipe is a mainstay of Art Director Camille Bavera’s Italian Sunday lunch. It serves eight very full people, or any twosome armed with spoons.
Zia Monica’s Tiramisu
Classic Sunday Tiramisu
Ingredients
- 400 oz mascarpone
- 100 oz sugar
- 2 egg yolks
- 4 egg whites
- 2 tbsp brandy
- 200 ml coffee/espresso
- sprinkle cocoa powder
- 300 oz savoiardi cookies(lady fingers)
Instructions
- beat eggs until frothy and thick
- add in sugar, mix, then fold in mascarpone until blended
- mix coffee with brandy
- dip one long/flat side of each savoiardi cookie and lay (soaked side down) in serving dish
- top with cream mixture, repeat with additional cookies, soaking as you go
- top second layer with remaining cream, sprinkle with cocoa
