Drunk at 3am in her university kitchen, Social Media Deputy Editor Claudia Cox developed this recipe using bits and bobs she found in the cupboard. If you fancy livening it up, try adding a few berries to the mixture before you microwave it, or spooning a little bit of jam onto the top.

Drunken Hot Chocolate Mug Cake

Claudia's less-then-five-minute hot chocolate mug cake

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tbsp self-raising flour
  • 1 tbsp hot chocolate powder
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp milk of choice
  • 1 sprinkle baking powder

Instructions
 

  • Mix all ingredients together in a mug, scraping the bottom well
  • Microwave for a minute and a half
  • Let stand for a minute and a half (cake will continue cooking)

Notes

For fun variations, add either a few frozen berries (rasp or blue) to the batter prior to cooking or a sprinkle of instant coffee for a caffeine kick!
