Having worked on Larder’s Dishing Up podcast, Millie Jackson is no stranger to tasty bakes. Here, she shares her favourite pasta recipe from Delia’s Kitchen.
Leek and Bacon Pasta Bake
An easy weeknight dish made flavourful with sautéed leeks and streaky bacon
Ingredients
- 12 oz penne pasta
- 3 S leeks
- 6 oz streaky bacon chopped
- 2 tbsp butter
- olive oil
- 2 oz plain flour
- 850 ml milk
- 6 oz cheddar cheese grated
- 75 ml double cream
- nutmeg
- salt and pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180℃
- Cook pasta according to package, add olive oil and salt to water
- Meanwhile, melt butter over low heat to sauté bacon and leeks
- In a separate pan, stir flour, butter, milk into a roux
- Pour pasta and leek mixture into baking dish
- Add the cheddar, nutmeg, and salt and pepper to your white sauce then mix well
- Stir in double cream
- Pour sauce over top pasta mixture in the baking dish
- Mix together topping parmesan, bread crumbs, and two pinches cayenne pepper, and sprinkle over top of pasta
- Bake for 30-40 minutes
