demerara sugar

rhubarb
(optional)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 180 degrees, butter a regular, round cake tin
Mix flour, sugar, margarine, and eggs together in mixing bowl
Cut apple into thin slices
(optional) If using rhubarb, lay cut up rhubarb in prepared pan before batter, and sprinkle demerera sugar, then follow standard instructions below:
Place half of cake batter into prepared tin
Lay apple slices on top of batter, and top with remaining batter
Bake for 30 minutes at 180℃ then test with knife or toothpick for doneness
